About Alex

I was born in England and raised in Australia after emigrating when I was six years old. Having travelled as a child to a few different countries with my parents, upon reaching adulthood I felt the urge to continue travelling.

Once finished with my education I embarked on a worldwide adventure that unexpectedly lasted six years! While travelling, my trusted camera became my favourite travel companion. I never went anywhere without it. I visited many countries and had some amazing experiences. I loved meeting the locals, making friends with them, and learning about their different cultures, traditions and way of life. I have travelled to some obscure far flung places and taking photographs was the best way for me to collect all these fabulous memories. Africa was my favourite trip with its majestic landscapes, awe-inspiring animals and the friendliest people I have ever come across.

One of my favourite things to do was take portrait photos of the local people. I find something about their physical appearance fascinating and capturing someone in their natural environment can be an intriguing thing.

When I returned to Australia and no longer had a reason to take photographs, I felt lost with nothing to document and realised how much of a passion I had for photography. So I came up with a plan to continue my journey with photography here at home. I have decided to dedicate myself to recording special moments for others and have started a small business in photography.

To me, photographs are a wonderful way to capture memories and moments that I can reflect on and share with others.

Getting the box of old photos out at my Mum's or Grandparents' house can be such a fascinating experience. I love it when they share all the stories that go along with each picture and finding out about people I never even knew. I know one day my children will find my travel photos and I will have a million stories to tell to go along with them!

These days I never go far without my camera, always hoping to capture a special moment.
